Puccetti pair fastest in first test session of the day

Kenan Sofuoglu recorded the fastest lap in the first of the official WorldSSP test sessions at Phillip Island on Day 1, registering a 1:33.770 to end the session ahead of new teammate Randy Krummenacher. Ex-Moto2 rider and WorldSSP rookie Krummenacher was the only rider able to lap within a second of Turkish superstar Sofuoglu; the 4-time WorldSSP Champion looking imperious in the first session of the day.

American PJ Jacobsen took his Honda into third on the timesheets, with British rider Gino Rea beating Frenchman Jules Cluzel to the honour of being the fastest MV Agusta on track by some margin in P4. Grand Prix winner Anthony West, who wildcards the first round of WorldSSP in 2016, was both the fastest home rider in the session and the fastest wildcard, fastest for P6 and the last rider on the timesheets to have stayed within 2 seconds of Sofuoglu’s best lap.

Jules Cluzel ended the session in 10th, 2.686 seconds behind rival Sofuoglu. The Frenchman is coming back from injuries sustained in Jerez last year as he gets to grips with the new regulations for the 2016 season.
